Your Chamber Working For You

Business and community development are of prime importance to the Chamber and it is the one organization that is established exclusively to deal effectively with them. As a unified voice, the Chamber acts as a lobby group, or advocate investigating and taking action to make things happen. We know that as a business leader, you don't always have the time to stay involved on local business issues. That's why we make sure that your thoughts, issues and concerns are heard at the Civic Centre, the Legislature and on Parliament Hill.

Your Chamber's voice is heard on many organizations including the Morden Corn and Apple Festival, Morden Community Development Corporation; Morden Marketing Team and other local ad hoc committees as well as Pembina Valley Tourism; Pembina Valley Development Corporation; Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and Manitoba Taxpayers Association.

We are also a member partner of Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Your Chamber participates fully in the annual policy process of both by formulating, submitting and defending Morden Resolutions on your behalf. By attending policy sessions at annual conventions your representatives are instrumental in voting to ratify Resolutions to improve every facet of business interest from Finance, Taxation and Fiscal Policy, Labour and Immigration, Transportation, Justice and Agriculture to Environment and Natural Resources, Government Operations, Infrastructure, Industry and Social Policy which are then recommended to the appropriate government bodies. We also actively participate in personal meetings with the most influential business and political meetings in Manitoba and Canada which brings Morden to the forefront of their collective consciousness.
